Have you ever had difficulty answering interview questions?
In the process of studying abroad, conducting the interview stage is one of the most crucial stages. When carrying out this stage, participants must answer the interviewer's questions correctly. Usually, participants often make mistakes at this stage. There are still many participants who fail at this stage because of small mistakes they make and ultimately fail to pass this stage.
To avoid this, you need ways or tips to answer questions well. It should also be noted that at this stage, it is not only the accuracy of answering questions that are assessed, there are other elements such as: body movements, eye gaze, etc. Therefore, this article will provide tips for passing the interview stage.
The first tip is to clear your mind and relax your body. Nervousness can be a problem in conducting interviews. It could also be said to be one of the triggers for failure in conducting interviews. When our body is tense, it will affect our brain. There are several things we can do when we are nervous, for example, we can take a break so that our mind becomes clear again, eat enough food, and take a deep breath. If your nervousness has been overcome, you can be sure you will be able to answer questions correctly. Also keep in mind that the person interviewing is observing you, not intimidating you. So, no need to be too nervous when doing an interview!
The second tip is still related to the first tip. When conducting an interview session, confidence and accuracy in giving answers are required. Accuracy in the sense of providing answers that are accurate, short, clear, and not long-winded. Confidence is one of the factors for success in an interview session. Feelings of lack of confidence such as doubt, lack of confidence, nervousness, can be an obstacle in the interview session. If we are not confident and don't give clear answers, how will the person interviewing know the real you?
The third tip is to do more research on basic questions. To avoid confusion with interview questions, you can also do research first. You can find out about interview questions on any platform, such as Google, YouTube, X, and other social media. You can study these questions so you don't get surprised during the interview.
The last tip is, make eye contact with the interviewer. According to psychology, making eye contact indicates that we are confident and focused on the conversation. Apart from that, eye contact can also bond us with the interviewer. Making eye contact is sometimes difficult. Feelings of insecurity or discomfort often dominate our bodies so we don't make eye contact with the person who is interviewing. Therefore, making eye contact with the person who is interviewing can grow and increase our good impression of ourselves.
